I vaguely remember being told that the Kenko and Tamron convertors are the
same thing anyway. It was a while ago though and would be worth verifying.
Last year I bought a Tamron SP2x. The store inadvertently got in the cheaper
Tamron MC7 item which I only discovered when I arrived to pick it up. As I
had a job on over the weekend I took it and asked them to get the right one
in to swap later. I used the MC7 for two weeks or so before swapping it for
the SP unit, and what I clearly remember is that it made absolutely no
noticable difference at all, either in operation or picture quality
(trackside work using Agfa Optima print film). I did use both SP convertors
for some time without any problems. I now have only the Canon EF convertors
and they are noticable better again. Buy the best you can afford and don't
use them unless you have to. Hope this helps.
