Keep in mind that the original data (3.1 M pixels * 12 bits/pixel = 4.65 Mbyte)
is compressed by the D30 using a lossless compression algorithm prior to
outputting it as RAW data file (according to the german CT-magazine I mentioned
in an earlier post, but they generally know what they're talking/writing
about...). This might make the interpretation of the sample image files more
difficult...
