Hi Gary,
380EX flash IR focus assist light will only be activated with 50e body
if central focus point selected manually. Other than that, built-in IR
focus assist in the body itself will take over.
It comes from the idea that 380EX focus assist light is not wide enough
to cover all focus point of 50e body.
With 540EZ, flash IR focus assist light will be activated everytime in
50e body.
