What would happen to resolution if I added a 2X Tele Converter to my 28-135
IS Zoom to get 270mm with it?
Would resolution at 270mm be even lower than with the Canon regular 100-300
or 75-300 lenses?
Any brands and/or models of Tele Converters in particular?
Or maybe I should buy a Canon 100-300 f/5.6L at the current price it's
selling, which seems a good deal, but I like IS Lenses...
Thanks.

Pierre,
I'm not sure here what is your goal - to get to 300mm end somehow, or get a
good 300mm lens that will produce high quality images. With 28-135IS and 2x -
you will get a very slow lens that will not AF - it's 5.6 at 135 end already,
remember? Quality will be poor - I tried it just for the sake of trying with
Kenko Pro 2x TC, and it was not much fun of a combo. It even could AF at
times on a very bright day, but still - lots of hunting.
If you want quality results - get a Canon 300L/4 - many used out there for
about $600, or Canon 100-300L - slow AF, but good image quality. Or (and I
took this road sometime ago and never regretted it) - you can look into Sigma
or Tokina 300/4. I have a Tokina 300/4 and it's a great lens - optics are
great - it's AT-X series, light weight, smaller than Canon one. A bit slower
and louder AF, but it doen't bother me - plus it costs a lot less than others
- you can still find some for about $430 or so - check Adorama. You can read
more about this on my web site - see link below - in Reviews section. Another
option for you - is to get 70/80- 200L 2.8 lens and a TC and it will work
well too.
