Henry's right, the IX is discontinued. (The easiest
way to descibe the thing is as an ElanII that uses APS
film. I understand there was a Japanese model that had
eye-control like the IIe).
However, until quite recently the Wolf Camera outlets
here on the West Coast were "dumping" them at a
sub-$200 price point, with not many takers. Used
outlets like KEH do have lots of used ones, at
relatively bargain-basement prices.
THough they are technically innovative and pretty cool
looking little stainless steel devices, the Achilles
heel for me is that they take APS film, which is
crippled by the small format and limited number of
emulsions. Can't hook up a battery pack like the
BP-50, either, so you're also stuck with expensive
lithium cells for power.
