Getting close enough is always the problem.>>
With truly wild birds there is seldom much option other than to shoot
from a hide (blind).
Even with something as big as a grey (blue) heron getting close enough
for a frame filler is no easy task once you get out of parks / bird
sanctuaries. Their eyesight is so good getting within 50 m is a
challenge.
For smaller birds even with 600 is suprises some people just how close
you have to get for a frame filler.
