Ken and Pierre,

I checked this flash out when it was released in
Australia.  If you think of it as an equivalent to a
540EZ you're on the right track.  Power zoom is just
like on the OEM Canon models.

It doesn't support e-ttl or FP flash / high speed
synch.  To get them in a 3rd party flash you need to
look at some of the Metz models or the Sigma 430 Super
and newly released 500 Super.

The other thing I *think* is missing from the Sunpak
is flash exposure compensation built into the flash. 
It does support FEC from EOS bodies though and has
built in rear curtain synch, manual power rations etc.
 I don't remember anything about how the
master/slaving worked on the Sunpak, It was too new at
the time for the dealers to have much knowledge.
