I agree with you Mike. I've had mine for around 9 weeks, and it's now
become my primary body of use because of it's feel, reliability, quickness
and quality. I haven't even taken my EOS3 out which is my usual body of
choice. I'm mostly using it with my EF 500/4L IS and 70-200/2.8L. Even in
JPG (compressed mode), I can get stunning pictures printed at 12 x 8 and am
very impressed with the quality. Most of my shooting has been at ISO
100/200. I'm currently shooting with 3x 340mb IBM MicroDrive's. Each one
will fit around 90 pictures in RAW mode, or 311 pictures in JPG FINE mode.

I'm hoping Canon will improve upon the following features for the PRO
version of the body:-

 - Waterproofing / enhanced durability (where necessary i.e.. power switch)
 - frames per second increased (6-10 would be best for sports photography)
 - double/treble the cache buffer storage to facilitate the above before
overflowing buffer
 - ECF
 - focus point light up on screen with a 45 focus point, 21 zone evaluative
metering
 - remove built in flash
 - Much needed rubber frame protruding from the back LCD panel to help avoid
scratching

With the latter, I'm always worried that when the camera's hanging around my
neck that because the camera sits directly on your chest that buttons on my
shirt, or a zip on my coat might scratch the LCD panel. I will shortly be
looking at fixing a protective screen over this just in case.

If Canon can achieve the above features into the new digital pro, then it
will be pretty much on par with the EOS3 and 1V.
