One person has asked the following: "Note that I'm probably not the only person who isn't keen to list in detail my current investment in camera gear. True, most of it tends to come out in conversation on the mailing list but that's not the same as listing it in convenient form." The reason for gathering all this information is so that I can create a better site for everyone, these are the ideas I have so far that will make use of this information. 1) When you add photos to the site, you will be given drop down lists of your kit, which will make it easier to record what the photograph was taken with. 2) As the number of photographs on the site increases you will be able to search for photographs in a variety of ways, by, Member of course, but also by equipment, eg. Photos taken with a Polarizer, photos taken with a MR-14EX flash etc.. I think, and hopefully you will agree, that this will be useful. 3) I can give you an option to not show your total kit list on your profile page if you would prefer to keep this hidden, what do you think ? 4) I will produce a page that each member can access, listing their own kit, and all the specs I can find relating to your own kit, eg. DOF (Depth of field) charts etc etc. 5) Ages ago, I mentioned the possibility of EOS Club group buying, and if the site ever gets to that stage, I will be able to inform members who might be interested in a certain piece of kit rather than tell everyone who already owns it as well. The idea behind this is to get say, 20 members to say they want a particular lens (or any item) and then for me to get the best offer from a retailer. 6) Any ideas you might like to throw my way !
