I hate screaming instructions....they suggest dumb list
members....;))

I can....below the intro/welcome message:

Dear (new) S_ubscriber,
Welcome to the Canon EOS Mailinglist.
Please read the following instructions carefully (ALL OF THEM!), and
store it in your archive at least *once*, not reading and storing it
is sufficient ground for spanking!....;-))
You just have s_ubscribed to either
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
(all list messages are send to you directly after they come in, one by one)
or
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
(several list messages are collected in one single email message, send out
to you at least once a day (unless there is no mail at all of course).
- To switch from Real Time to Digest vice versa, you must uns_ubscribe
from the old one and s_ubscribe to the new one, in other words send:
1)
UNS_UBSCRIBE EOS
to
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
and
2)
S_UBSCRIBE EOS-DIGEST
to
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
(or vice versa)
- Mail:
All MAIL to the list should be sent to:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
- Help:
For help on all other administrative matters, send
HELP
in the body of the message to
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

If you are new to this mailinglist (or mailinglists in general), I strongly
advise you to read the EOS List-FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) first. You can
find this FAQ on:
http://members.home.net/jul.loke/faq.html
[ Please note the correct spelling of 'a1.nl' in all adresses: it is
'a-one' & 'en-el' ! ]
Thanks for your contributions, now and in future!

It was.

Hmm....at least [EMAIL PROTECTED] should result in a
straight forward....

The 'Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]' in the same header should give a) you a
hint, and b) your mailclient clear instructions what to do when you
hit 'reply'....

Eliminates a good deal of admin mails inadvertently sent to the list
(plus the inevitable reactions from others, ranging from silly to
helpful (in 10-fold) to grumpy)
> Bounced again! OK ------ Maybe I shouldn't include email address of the lail

Wrong, you can include the address itself.
The only thing you can't include is the admin footer.
It's by far the most effective way to ban both sloppy quoting and
multiple nested quotes ad-infinitum, plus most of the
reverse-quoting (stubborn folks who knowingly and willing want to
reinvent the wheel of communications excepted).

It's the only way to block spam 100%....and the bounce-instructions
clearly tell you how to deal with multiple accounts.

It's more like a self-fulfilling prophecy....:))

All you need to do in any decent mailer is to hit 'reply'....
Without any hurdles, this list would suffocate in misplaced admin
commands and spam, and you wouldn't even *want* to read it anymore.
You're also the first in nearly 8 months to complain about the lack
of a post-address in the web-instructions....you normally don't end
up there without either s_ubscribing immediately thereafter (and
thereby receiving the welcome message), or by previously having
received a list message (in which this URL was mentioned), which
wouldn't take no more than hitting 'reply' for the correct posting-address
to appear....

Bye,

The desire to understand
is sometimes far less intelligent than
the inability to understand
