Paul,

I cannot imagine shooting macro without an angle finder! I also use it for
other shots, such as straight up tree trunks. It really saves your neck and
allows you to put the camera right on the ground. For an example, the poppy
shot initially displayed at my website was taken with an A2, angle finder B,
28-105 lens, camera sitting on the ground and angled upward. Because of the
terrain, I couldn't have shot it without the angle finder.

I have both the Angle Finder B and C. The B requires an adapter to fit most
Canon bodies, at a cost of $35 just for the adapter! See B&H website for a
good list of which bodies it will fit. B&H asks $79 for the B *with* the
adapter which is a good deal. You can sometimes pick them up at used camera
stores (from $40-$75), but only sporadically, and usually *without* the
adapter. The C fits the EOS 3 and 1v, plus it comes with adapters for *all*
EOS bodies. *Both* models swivel. No, the image is not reversed. Yes, you
can see the LCD readouts. Yes, it is razor sharp. I do not have eye-control
focus so do not know if it works with the adapter in place. No third party
that I know of. FYI - Kirk photo makes an adapter to fit the less-expensive
Minolta angle finder on a Nikon body, but they don't have anything similar
for Canon.

At a photo shoot this weekend, I was using the C on my 1v and lent the B to
my buddy (and now he is going to buy it from me). Nearly all ten of us had
EOS systems, so I set up the 180mm macro with 500D closeup lens on the
stamens of a magnolia bloom, with the C of course, then let everyone put
their body on the lens & angle finder, and shoot away. Two of the people had
the Elan 7e. Everyone loved the set up - I hope you have those items in
stock, Henry, 'cuz I think I sold a few for you ;7)

Short answer - get an angle finder! I'd recommend the C since it works with
more bodies. And if you're in southern California, drop by and I'll show you
how to use it. We have a lovely arboretum just perfect for photography.
