Well, the command dial on my Eos 5 finally snapped and I'm wondering
what my options are. What is the latest news on this issue? Last
I'd heard, some people claimed that Canon was finally admitting there
was a design flaw and had began to complete "permanent" fixes with a
newly designed command dial (metal pin?). I've even heard some
stories of Canon fixing the problem for free (after people have sited
the vast number of posts on the internet concerning this problem).
Is this true? My camera is a couple years past the year warranty
period, so I'm wondering if this is even worth the effort. Has
anyone sent their camera to Canon for repair? If they charge for the
fix, how much does it cost?

Another option is to send it to Horizon Electronics to get fixed.
Can someone give me their address and phone and let me know the
approximate price of the repair?

One other option might be to take it to the local camera store. If
Canon has redesigned the command dial, would the local store have
these parts available to them by now? Has anyone else done this at
their local camera store? Thanks
