Hi Kevin,
All of the "rebel" class cameras (i.e. 1000, 1000n,
500, 500n, 300, 3000, 5000 or any Rebel model (US
name)) have 1/90 x-synch.
Any EOS camera higher up the food chain will have a
x-synch speed of 1/125 up to 1/250 (the 100, 50/50e,
5, 30/33 3 and 1/1n). Prices on some of these are
hardly economical though (especially in Australia) -
and those that could be will likely have no better
than 1/125 sync speed, which is not a huge improvement
on 1/90.
If you want faster flash synch at a reasonable price,
maybe an older body type is the way to go - the EOS
620 has a flash synch of 1/250 and if you're patient
you may get one at a reasonable price. Alternatively
the EOS 650 is quite a bit cheaper but still offers
1/125 flash synch. They also have the advantage of
being built like tanks.
Regards
Gary
