I recently bought the new Tamron 28-200 II. Canon could certainly learn a
few things about how to build a non-pro lens from Tamron. Its fit and finish
are superb! This lens physically is one awesome non-pro lens. I have owned
numerous non-pro EF lenses and none come close to this. What really amazed
me is that is exhibits almost no barrel wiggle. Canons lenses are plagued by
this. This lens is tight. It comes with a hood and a six year warranty. Very
nice espeacially for its price.
On my EOS-3 it focuses very fast and sure. Its AF sound is slight for
non USM. (Boy put USM on this one and WOW you would really have a doosie!)
The next test for me is how the glass performs. I will be doing some testing
in the next few weeks. I will letcha know.
