Bob, all you say is true but just to be sure:
I don't want a MANUAL camera. I just wanted an EOS-compatible
body which would accept FD lenses. Like EOS30 with FD mount.
IF Canon had had ANY T90 level modern body with enough spare
parts and "official" service I *might* possibly still be shooting
with FD series. But that was my problem anyway...
But I won't disagree: The EOS 50E, 28-135 IS and 100-400 what I
got to replace most of my FD-kit (T70, T90, 17/4 - 300/4L) were
nice. Except that 28-135 is slow and 100-400 vignettes full
open at 400mm (need to stop down often at least 1/2 stops)...
