Hi Professor:

Of your choices, the EF 70-200 f/4 L would sure get my vote.  I have the
f/2.8 version and really like it.  Optically, it's an excellent lens and I
hear from f/4 owners that theirs is every bit as good, if not quite as fast.
MTF scores (if you put any stock in those) corroborate that.  Also, if you
want to get out to 300mms, or close, later on think about using a 1.4X
extender with it.
