The Kodak variations are in much wider use.

Except for image quality..... which is what counts for me.
> Build,
Mine has taken several very hard plunges by now.
And it has taken quite some showers. Nothing to complain.

I don't need more speed. The German band "Die Toten Hosen"
have their frontman Campino jump into the audience every
second gig. With more than 1000 gigs by now that are around
500 times where a photographer could have recorded it.
I have shot 5 gigs, and recorded that four times.
Nobody else did by now, and one time he didn't jump.
Sooo.... who needs a faster camera? Go for a faster eye
and finger.

I prefer manual focus for many things anyway.
> Nikon has now produced TWO new professional cameras,
They have announced, not produced yet. And certainly
not even delivered.

Bugfixed version (color profile), less pixels in
comparison to the D30 with still much higher price.
Nothing to rave about....

With rectangular pixels and unidirectional interpolation.
I want to see that, before I even consider this to be
of any use.

Who cares for specs? Look at the results.

As stated above: Nothing to rave about.

Try to shoot skintones with anything but RAW, and you
will know how far ahead Canon is.

With just the savings in film my D30 is paying itself
in less than a year. And next year I can buy the next
camera if neccessary. No doubt it will be better than
any Nikon.
