I am not sure what "off-camera terminal" refers to, but you will be able to
use external source, Quantum makes a number of external sealed lead-acid
electrolyte battery packs that can be connected to the Canon flashes so that
you get at least 4 AHr capability and up for your flash.
You just need to find the right adapter cable for your flash, which is the
pricy part that I could not justify (it was CDN$75 when I last checked), so
I just made a home-brew adapter which has worked well with my last 540EZ and
the current 550EX.
