Hi Ken,

Did you try looking on Canon's websites?

There are much older and (barely readable) documents at:
http://www.cps.canon-europa.com/profservices/techsupp/techlib/techdoc/LTR__0006.pdf
http://www.cps.canon-europa.com/profservices/techsupp/techlib/techdoc/LTR__0011.pdf
http://www.cps.canon-europa.com/profservices/techsupp/techlib/techdoc/LTR__0013.pdf

Better descriptions are at the Canon Headquarters website:
http://www.canon.com/camera-museum/tech/room/f_index.html
http://www.canon.com/technology/optics/shakecorrect_shift.html

The "Technology" link mentions that the response time for
the Image Stabilizer is 2ms.

Does this imply that Image Stabilizer can correct shake
frequencies up to 500Hz?

Cheers
Julian Loke
P.S. > how different it is from Nikon VR
I think you can buy Canon IS lenses from just about any Canon retailer.
The Nikon VR lens must be in such high demand that it is always
"out of stock."
