Ok Guys don't panic about the price yet! Published prices are list and
never anywhere near street price.
As near as I can figure it works out like this:

Anyway, after the initial intro pricing should settle down to a street price
in the area of about: $380 to $410
My old Canon Magazine list may be an old list. Does anyone have more up to
date list prices for the old extenders?

Extender EF 2x - 50.5mm long at 240g
Extender EF 1.4x - 23.3mm long at 200g
New Extenders
Extender EF 2x - 58mm long at 265g
Extender EF 1.4x -27mm long at 220g
Obviously there have been more changes than just adding the gasket. Note
the difference in size and weight. Personally, as much as I use the old TCs
I will snatch up the new ones as soon as I can. Especially the EF 2x II.
