Greg,

I guess my experience is the most pertinent for you. I ordered an Elan IIe from NY by phone at ten minutes past midnight Aust time on a Friday night/Sat morning and the customs agent at Melbourne airport rang me two days later on the Monday morning at 9am to confirm delivery address and take credit card details for import duty etc.

I received it late that afternoon approx. sixty hours after ordering and having travelled half way round the world.

Contrast that with one of the camera shops here in Melbourne who have still not supplied a 50mm 1.4 lens I ordered on December 30 last year citing they had problems getting the lens from Canon Aust.

I hassled them yesterday saying I was going to cancel the order if they did not supply within seven days and they 'found' the lens this morning...................

Go buy from New York. I shall in future.

Cheers,

Les
