I don't understand the function of Custom Function 5 on the EOS 1v. Would
someone enlighten me? It supposedly allows one to set the aperture on the
camera body even though the lens is physically detached from the body. Is
this for close-up work? Maybe one has to set the effective aperture to allow
correct metering?
My main interest in using this custom function is with old Nikon lenses & an
EOS mount adapter. Perhaps I could dial in the effective aperture into the
EOS1v even though the Nikon lens isn't providing any aperture info to the
body via electronics contacts.
I'm seriously looking at buying this camera, and found the custom function
intriguing.
