HI,
this is not correct, they do support AF - I have this set and it works with 
AF just fine.
As far as using them with the 20-35 - not sure if it's a good idea  - I just 
tried that with my 20-35L and Kenko 12mm ext tube and my dog - all you get in 
the frame is a tip of the nose - to get it in focus. I'd say you should go 
for a super wide lens like 14mm or a fisheye - 15mm. As far as Kenko set - 
works just as well as Canon, at least on older bodies - 1n, Elan, RT. with 
lenses like 50mm or 100mm. Or even 80-200L or 300L - to get closer min 
distance.
