This is not grease. It is in fact the melted substance of sponge lining used in
the shutter unit. Apparently it is very common with older EOS bodies like the
630/600, 650, 100 etc. Because it is sticky, it affect the shutter accuracy.
Changing the shutter unit by Canon Service Centre is expensive; a decision you
have to make.
