Didn´t he mean "drop proff" as in water? not physikly dropping
then, but that they stand against water much better?
I´ve seen the pic of the Eos1v get a bunch of water over it, and
I guess it got alot of rubber to stop the water from getting in,
and if the TC got that in bot end, then it also would be water
resistent, as those lenses are..!?

Where does it say the teleconverters are drop proof because of rubber
gaskets on either end on the lens mounts?  And I am pretty sure that
lenses of the mass of the 300, 400, 500 and 600 IS lenses are not drop
proof.  I'm not about to drop test my 500mm lens from any height higher
than one inch on a padded surface.  I'll give you the point that the
EOS-1v pretty much is drop proof but what does that have to do with it's
weather-resistance?  I am not about to drop test either of my EOS-1vs
either.  Where did you get this idea and why are we having this
discussion?
