Thanks for everybody who did give me some advices for
my parent's new camera equipment.
I decided to get the Elan 7 and 420EX as planned. The
24-85 was replaced with the 28-135IS. Quality wise
both lenses seem to be similar. But since all pictures
will be shot handheld the IS lens will give an
advantage. I did not get the 75-300IS yet. I first
want my parents to check out the Elan 7, 28-135, and
420EX. Depending on their needs the longer focal
length will likely be covered either by the 70-200/4
or the 75-300IS.
Hm, actually I am already excited to try out the combo
myself. Oh, and I got a pretty good deal: $1013 for
the body, lens, and flash. Can't complain.
