OK, thanks.  Already doing all that.  Except I haven't sold it yet!
But I have gotten some shots at 300mm that are *really* not that
horrific.  I used to shoot with an FD 135 f/2.5, and of course I know
that the 75-300 is nowhere near.  But it's going to take more than a
"little" money to approach that for a really good  lens.  Working on
it.
