I've never seen any EOS gear with anything other than English
written on it. Even cameras marketed for Japan-only sales (the
Autoboy, the Kiss) have the names written on them in Roman letters,
not Kanji or whatever.
Actually, this brings up a sort of interesting point, I think. In
that modern camera gear seems always to be in English. No matter
where you buy stuff all the lens data is in Roman letters with Arabic
numbers (100 mm, f 1.8, USM for ultrasonic motor, etc), all the
camera descriptions (M for manual, Av for aperture value, etc etc)
are in English. Just like programming languages in common use are all
basically English-derived.
Sure is handy for those of us who speak English, but I wonder to
what extent it's a nuisance for people who don't.
Can anyone think of modern camera gear not in English? There's some
Russian stuff, I suppose. I know I've seen old German stuff (Leica,
Zeiss) with German written on it, but what about now?
