Really??
I have occasionally used a few medium format cameras ranging from Hasslebled
to Bronica to Pentax to Fujica, and have found that provided my focusing and
exposure were correct, the sharpness of the results have always been
noticeably superior to the 35mm.
The only time I've seen much less noticeable difference is when an L-lens
was used, again assuming the focusing, exposure were correct AND the camera
was rock steady, I have a portrait photo of a friend taken with the
EF100-400 IS, it is truly the one photo even when enlarged to 8x12, I still
had a hard time believing it was from a 35mm consumer grade negative
film(Fuji Superia 200 ASA).
BTW, IS most definitely made the difference in that shot.
