As if I didn't have too much time on my hands already, allow me to mention here
that Canon USA has a new rebate promotion which began yesterday and runs through
30 June. Frankly, some of the rebates are pretty anemic: $20 on an Elan 7E, $100
on an EOS 1v, $200 on an EF 400/2.8L IS (a $7500 lens!).
IMO the best deal is the $100 rebate on the 70-200/4L.
Rumour fodder: There is apparently not a single reference to the 70-200/4L
anywhere on the Canon USA web site. :-O
