I'm confused, do you have an Elan 7 or an EOS-3? The 2/3rd underexposure
problem was restricted to the EOS-3. When the 45-segment matrix metering
algorithm first came out, it was adjusted a bit too much to underexposure,
which annoyed the pros who shot slides. But it was only restricted to those
early units.

If you have an Elan-7 (as that's what you say below), I don't know why
you're bringing up the issue of the EOS-3.....

And if you're shooting slides, why are you looking at the prints to
evaluate exposure? If the slides are exposed correctly, then it's your
Ilfochrome lab that's not able to print them (although to be fair, chrome
prints are tough).

Nice photos of the elks (and sunset), by the way. You could improve the
color balance and dynamic range a bit in Photoshop. Get the slides scanned
using a 14- or 16- bit scanner and adjust levels. It may be just my
computer monitor, but your blacks aren't black -- they're like 95% black.
This is easily fixed. You can see this most prominently in the scan of
McClure's sunset which is black framed. Blacks should be black -- at least
if you're a Zone advocate.
