Should be in the booklet, but what you are describing is when ECF could not
pick up a point that you are looking at to select that point to focus, so
the camera picks a point that it thinks you might be wanting to focus based
on the details within the frame.
The blinking ECF icon tells you that although focus is achieved on
something, it may not be the point you want to be focusing.
