Once again, there's proof that Julian = wealth of information.
EOS-3 boasts double contacts for each of the DX contact location, there are
two little gold plated pips formed on each gold plated contact "disc"
location, none of them look misaligned or bent.
Looking into the film chamber, there are two columns of contacts, the right
column (near the center of the camera) has 5 contact discs located on a
spring loaded plate, each disc is by itself spring loaded also.
The left column has 2 discs plus two pins similarly located on a spring
loaded plate, the 2 pins appear to be 2 separate spring loaded pins at 10
o'clock and 4 o'clock location below the top 2 discs and occupying the
footprint of what a 3rd disc would have been. Both pins also have a very
fine, sharp pin point tip.
What I also noticed is that the pin at the 4 o'clock location protrudes
noticeably more than the other one, in fact the pin at the 10 o'clock
location appears to almost be flush with the spring loaded plate, although I
do believe it still protrudes enough to make electrical contact to the film
canister.
I am going to have to go to the store to check out other bodies.
Regards,
Ken
