Canon does sell a hood for the lens as I have it. It's the same odd shape 
as their other wide angle lens hoods. My guess is that it would be hard to 
buy one from a third party that would not vignette unless it was specially 
made for that lens.  I bought the hood immediately and have never tried it 
without the hood outdoors so I do not know what flare issues you may have.
