Why? Mine can be focused manually as well as AF when in AF mode?
Am I missing your point? Optics on the 1.4 are excellent, every bit as
good as any other 1.4 on the market and better than most.
Yes, there is the 1.0 but it is beast and not as sharp as the 1.4 at any
aperture.
Of course you do get that extra 1/2 stop though for only $1K more.
