Grega,
My deepest apologies! I used two lenses on that roll of exposure
tests. The lens that gave me problems was my 19mm zoom, not the
28-200! The blockage on the latter was nonexistant. Keep in mind
that this series of tests was done on an Elan 7. So the results
from an EOS 300 may differ.
Forgive me for stating the obvious, but your friend should just
do a test. I'm presuming he has the latest Sigma 28-200 (the
f/3.5, not the f/3.8). This is the lens that I have. Please ask
him if he has a problem with the lens sticking while zooming
out--it gets a little stubborn at about the 80mm and then returns
to normal after passing that point.
thanks,
Chris
Hi Chris!
Thanks for the info. It's better that you mixed up tests this way... :)
I did tell him to do the test befour any serious shooting, but it's his
first SLR so for the moment his a bit lost with everything he has to take
into consideration right now.
I got to play a bit with the lens today (yes, it's f3.5). His lens has no
sticking problem that I could noticed. Otherwise was I cuite impresed with
the lens focusing speed and close focusing. Also took few test shots
comparing to my EF 35-80 and 80-200 combo to see if there's some diference.
Thanks again
Grega
