London is littered with Professional photo shops and labs, film may be a
touch pricier than in the US, but it saves the worry of X-rays etc. Names to
look out for include Joe's Basement, Metro, Sky, Leeds Photovisual and Ceta.
Semi-pro and high end amatuer names include Jessops and Snappy Snaps (mostly
C41 neg though). It all depends on what film stock you want, what standard
of storage you prefer etc. but you shouldn't have to go too far out of your
way. I know a couple of places that will turn around mounted slides in under
2 hours.
Drop me a line and tell me what services your looking for, and where
you're staying, and I'll be glad to look up your nearest supplier.
