Julian Loke posted a long and informative post about how the flash works in EOS
cameras on May 13. I was wondering how much of that is applicable to the on-camera
flash?

Also, I had a Rebel XS. When using the flash in either P or Green, it would display
1/90 as the shutter speed. With the Elan 7 in the P mode, it seems to go to 1/60
shutter speed as the default. I thought the flash sync speed was 1/125?
Even weirder, in the green mode, the meter seems to display what the shutter speed
would be without the flash, but it seems to expose correctly anyway.
The reason for my question is that I used my new Elan 7 to take some indoor pictures
and they were badly overexposed. After looking at the negatives and at the manual, it
seems that it has to be the processor, because the Elan 7 seems to be almost
idiot-proof in P mode with the in-camera flash pulled up (only some of the photos were
overexposed and there were marks on one of the negatives, I will be going to a pro
lab from now on.)
