Yes, the advice "try it and see" is good! 

I have told about my experiences before which include EOS50e and EOS30
using Kodak HEI High Speed Infrared. In both my cameras, only the sprocket
holes get fogged - no fogging of the image area. However, perhaps there are
slight variations between cameras (of the same type). 

I know this doesn't help you, but at least it makes the "try it..." a
strong statement.
