> Subject: EOS Fundamentals Questions on Tripod

Tripods are divided in 4 groups:
1.Heavy and expensive:For the studio with large cameras
2.Heavy and cheap: For going around a little, never fot trekking
3.Light and cheap:In my opinion,for nothing.They are unstable,and the heads
will drive you nuts...
4.Light and expensive. These are the ones for treeking, traveling and are the
only ones you'll really carry all the times,so to say, you'll really use.

In # 4 are included carbon fiber tripods. The price range goes from 260 to
700 dollars. Ballheads can be bought from 80 to 500.
Remember that a good tripod is an investment made one time for a lifetime of
carrying around... And it's the single piece of equipmment that can make
more difference in your photography.
I got myself a Slik CF 803 (U$ 260) and a Slik Pro Ballhead 800 (U$ 80).
It's wonderful.Marvellous. Light,stable,easy to use,keep the camera where
you want it to be without effort. Lock the knob, and it will not move (I use
it with a Canon 70-200 2.8L,which is heavy!). Sure i'd like a Gitzo CF and
an Arca-Swiss ballhead, but the 1.000 tag doesn't fit my budget...
Buy yourself a 50 dollars one,(I have two) and get for free a back disease
and a headache. Or live it at home, most of the time...
