Don't feel bad at all. It's a great lens.

Nope. It's everyone's. But just think...if you hunted around for
a beautiful 50mm 1.8 mk I (like I did) the noise would be worse!
It's got a nice metal mount, but it's got an older, noisier
motor.

NOT AT ALL! It's great. How much did you spend on it? Sharpness
at that price is not just a bargain--it's a give-away. Don't
worry about the platic mount. It's the glass that counts, and the
glass on that lens is exceptional for the price.
