10x for comments on the lens.
This really a sharp lens. I'm glad with it.
What I've noticed is that this lens is very fast. I don't have
super-high-tech nuclear chronometer installed in my brain so I can't find
any speed difference between my fiends f/1.4 USM, or 24-85 USM or any other
USM lens and this one.
One more question: Any experience in shooting portraits with this lens? How
close you can approach your subject?
BTW, My new remote switch RS-60E3 (I bought it together with this lens @
B&H) had very nasty problem: as soon as I was connecting it to camera or
switching camera on with connected RS, it started to hunt for focus, just
like
you half-press shutter button. Thanks god I don't have techno fear, I have
techno joy (Eddie Izzard), so I dissembled it and fixed the problem.
It's such a simple device to make and then check. Shouldn't canon stand for
its name?
Best,
David
