Yes, I use it quite a bit outdoors. I'm an eyeglass
wearer, and it does, in many instances, effectly shade
the viewfinder and my eye.
But it gets in the way of opening and closing the
camera back. It's possible to slide it up just enough
to squeeze the back open and closed without removing
it, but then it's likely to fall off.
