Yes, you can set flash exposure compensation for 380EX with the camera and
it will work. (Check the manual on "Flash Exposure Compensation", p.~69-70
in English/US version). If you have other Canon flash unit with its own
control for flash exposure compensation (e.g. 540EZ) it will just override
camera settings. I used it quite a bit - it works. ;)
