         There are a number of third-party zooms of varying focal ranges 
which include a macro setting. Not all go from infinity to 1:2 directly. 
The Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Super APO Macro comes immediately to mind. It 
does 1:2 in macro, with a close focus distance of 37.4".
