One comment, the consumer films are similar to Pro films but because they
require a longer shelf life they have to change the emulsion to do this.
For this reason Pro film "when fresh" will produce somewhat, albeit
subjectively, better results.

As to Provia, Velvia, and Kodak, I learned one thing in the last month,
Velvia is too contrasty for subjects that may have a shadow Provia less so.
I rate Velvia at ISO 40. The best film (IMO) for shadow detail is E100VS.
You still have the exagerrated coloring of Velvia and a true ISO100.  Just
my 2 cents. WHen I shot a rodeo digitally I also shot a roll each of Velvia,
Provia 100F, Sensia II, and E100VS.  This is what I base this on, real
shooting same processing.
