HI,
Well, I think it depends on what body you use these lenses on. Overall, both
are pretty much the same on a bright day. But if you use 1n, 3 or 1V with
only center AF censor selected 70-200L will have an edge in AF speed and
accuracy. Any maybe in low light too. But I still prefer 100-400IS as it
still is a very fast focusing lens with IS and longer reach. So, all depends
on the light and body you use it on.

Ok George, let me restate the question then. Has anyone compared the AF
speed of these two lenses using the same body?
In other words, if you have an ELAN, or an EOS1, or EOS-3, and used both on
the same body how do they compare in speed to one another.
