I had command dial problems twice in my EOS 5. The last time it was
fixed, the technician managed to disengage the click mechanism, but it
takes skill to do it. I'd never try it myself. The top deck is wired to
the body (built-in flash wires), so unless you know what you're doing,
you will likely tear the wires. One last advice: if the dial mode "turns
heavy", don't expect it to last much longer. This is a VERY COMMON
problem with the EOS 5.
