Thanks, Tom. I think the reason I was hearing the "clunk" from the
100-400 was that I was trying it out in near silence. Last week, I was
shooting some birds in a lagoon, very early in the morning. I was
surprised the sound of the lens didn't scare them away, it was so loud.
But later in the day, I was shooting at the beach near a pier where they
were going to have fireworks, and I couldn't here the lens at all. Just
the environment, I guess.
