A teleconverter changes the lens' effective focal length w/out altering the lens' minimum focus distance. So, a Canon 75~300/4-5.6 (with a min focus distance of 4.9') plus a 2x teleconverter becomes a 150~600/8-11 with a min focus distance of 4.9'. While the result is there, the method may not be the most elegant, compared to either extension tubes or dual; element (achromat) close-up diopters. -- regards, Henry Posner Director of Sales and Training B&H Photo-Video, and Pro-Audio Inc. http://www.bhphotovideo.com * **** ******* *********************************************************** * For list instructions, including unsubscribe, see: * http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/eos_list.htm ***********************************************************
